Description
A six-week paid summer placement opportunity that targets Bronx and Westchester County junior/senior high school and freshman/sophomore college students who have expressed an interest in the health fields. Students are exposed to a variety of careers in the health fields as well as to health issues affecting their communities. Students are placed three days a week for eight hours a day, with mandatory didactic sessions once a week at Lehman College. These sessions encompass a full day and include lectures, field trips and other health-related activities. Students who successfully complete the Summer Health Internship Program will emerge with newfound connections, job-readiness skills and insight into the world of healthcare.
