Bronx Shop Programs
Overview
With funding from the federal Health Resources and Services Administration, the Albert Einstein College of Medicine established the Bronx Science and Health Opportunities Partnership (BxSHOP) in 2004.
BxSHOP is a collaborative effort to promote underserved and economically disadvantaged student advancement in the health professions. The Partnership formally links the Albert Einstein College of Medicine to programs dedicated to the development and nurturing of students from middle school through college and post-graduate degrees. BxSHOP partners offer academic enrichment, summer internships and entrance examination preparation for high school, college and graduate school.
BxSHOP also encourages academic achievement by empowering parents with the knowledge and awareness needed to help their children succeed in science and health careers. Through Einstein’s two pathway programs- The Einstein Enrichment Program for high school students and the Hispanic Center of Excellence Summer Undergraduate Mentorship Program for college students- we collaborate with our academic and community partners to expand efforts in the Bronx and beyond.
